Jonathan Crayford was born in 1964 in New Zealand and began playing piano at the age of 3. At 18 he was composing music for feature films several of which received industry awards. His work today spans many different genres and disciplines. As a multi-instrumentalist he has worked and recorded with artists in New Zealand, Australia, New York, Europe, Brazil and Cuba. He is currently living in Paris working on a film/music project about mathematician Évariste Galois. Of his other work, 'paintings of numbers' were exhibited at Suite Gallery in NZ 2009, his short film 'The Girl from Sweden and a Maori from Dunedin' won an award. His photographs on the subject of Galois are currently exhibited at le Mairie de Bourg-la-Reine in Paris. Other recent work includes working with David Murray editing, arranging and appearing for Questlove's Afropicks featuring Questlove, Tony Allen, Macy Gray, Amp Fiddler Mamani Keita, Anti Balas. |
